Anyone have there head milled down? and if so how many thousanths? I know it really helps throttle response, Ive done it to several atv's, huge diffrence, in the past but just wondereing what would be suggested on the 220 head, .015, .020 thousanths? thanks.

try rb-designs ron does a lot of work on kdx's he did my carb mode all i can say is WOW i'm sending my head out in the spring.

TAS is correct. I think Ron Black Designs charges $45 to mill a 220 head. He has done a bunch of them and so there is no guess work on his part. I don't know how much he removed, I do know he changed the shape of the chamber slightly. Definately well worth it on my bike.

Oh yea, I did the head. It revs like an MX bike. Snappier and revs fast compared to stock. More power everywhere. $65 shipped, every KDX should do it.

He re-cuts the squish band, and that changes the character slightly as stated above but jsut milling the head is not th best method on the KDX. Send it to RB.
