Hi everyone! new here. great site
I search but, no answers.
OK. I just purchased a 98 kx 250 two stroke last week and I have no idea of whats normal and not normal. I when ridding not to long ago and today I notice an thick oil leak! The oil leak is coming out between the FMF exhaust and cylinder head.I checked the spark plug and the plug had thick oil everywhere...
is these normal for 2strokers to have the plug full of thick oil?
please help. Thanks.

I've kinda been out of it for a while, but no that's not good, ya may need to do a top end and rejet

try running it on ...125m of oil to 5 L of petrol...if it smokes, ive got the same problem with my kx 125, its just running to rich, i run mine on 125 m of oil to 5 l of petrol

For the leak part, replace the "o" rings on the expansion chamber. There should also be a copper gasket that is between the expansion chamber & cylinder, replace it also. As for the plug having thick oil erywhere, I agree with JPIVEY, re-jet and possible new top end. Have you cleaned the air filter? This may cause it to run rich if the filter is plugged up.
