I'll take an educated guess and say that the master cylinder plunger is stuck. Not sure about your particular bike, but there are rebuild procedures. Check your manual or get a Haynes or Clymer manual for your bike and it should outline everything for you.
Good luck.

I went back and read your other post and replies in the MX bike forum. To let the brake fluid out, you turn the nipple (the thing a hose would fit on) counterclockwise. If you put a hose on it and put the hose into a container before you open it you will save a lot of mess. Be careful not to let any air into the system when you are doing this. BTW, there is a good chance your brake fluid needs to be changed, since your bike is an '89 and you've never done it before. If you can get a manual for the bike it will give you the info you need to change the fluid and bleed the brakes. Lots of other good info in them as well. If you get the manual and don't understand everything in it , post here and people will help you.

i think i may have fixed it,,, it seems that the little spring that makes to brake lever stay out was jammed up against the brake piston button inside the perch. I had to pull out the spring with some needle nose pliers as well as the piston button,, i hope i didnt tear any of the rubber around it... but it seems that that is what it was....hope so...
thanks to everyone that responded in my time of crisis...
