Hey guys, im thinking about getting into motocross a bit.. im gettin a truck soon w/ a bed big enough for a dirt bike and ive always wanted to try this out about..

im just looking to be recreational, i live in arizona.. tons of desert where i see people riding all the time.

i dont know crap about em, i had a little mini bike when i was like 8 so i know basicly how to ride.

What kind of bikes should i look at.. beginner, cheap, durable.. and how do i know what size to get.. and is there a market of used bikes?

Hmm, while it might be a bit big for you, you should grow into it..

But a KX 125 would be very nice for you. Great low end power which will come in handy for beginners and in the desert, and more than enough top end power to brag about. And next to the KTM 125 SX, its the smallest 125cc bike out there.

I don't know. The KX100's about perfect for you but your 16 or older(legally) and I think it wouldn't be fast enough for desert riding. Unless you riding trails I'd get the 125. You can drop the forks and port it bit a KX already has excellent bottom. There's always the KDX if you want something bigger but tammer than a 250. It would last longer but it is a trail bike. The 200 has more top for higher rpm riding but the 220 probably goes faster. Then there's always the expesive but nicer KDX, the KTM 200EXC.

Not suggesting but a 250F might appeal if your a 4 stroke fan.
