the needle jet is set 2nd from the top and the reeds are bran new.as far as the comp.goes i never checked it hot but the bike runs so damm good and starts easy in 3rd with a good push on HARD packed dirt or pavement.the ony thing is im running it 20:1 and it seems to load up quick un less youre allways on it.could the rich mixture make it hard to start thats what the manual says also starts ok when hot (NO CHOKE).choke iis bran new from honda and only running super pump gas.mike

Run your bike at 1/4 throttle, put tape on the grip for reference. Chop the throttle and look at the plug,if it is wet then put a smaller pilot jet in it. If the factory recommends 20:1 then so be it,83 I thought they were leaning the oil out? Even though the reeds are new,did they lay completely flat on the cage,no gaps?

the reed cage is in good shape, the reeds layed perfect on it and the main jet is a 180 thats what the clymer manual says it should be but i guess it still could be too big i just do not want to lean it out too much because its on its last bore then im into$.what is the next smallest jet? if it clears up the loading up i guess im going in the right direction but i dont think the main jet has anythig to do with a cold start.the choke has its own starting cerkit i think?
