Does anyone have a idea where you could buy some paint (OEM color) to repaint a frame to the 1986 honda CR250 . I have a friend that is restoring one and we are looking for some frame paint . PJ1 does not offer this Honda orange color. Thanks for your help ! :)

A few years ago I checked my local Honda dealer for the frame paint on my 85 CR250,(I think it's the same color as the 86),but they wanted $20 a can! I ended up painting it Toyota white at $3.50 a can.

Color Rite has the paint. I bought some last year for my kids 86 xr 80. Perfect match. They called it honda red but its the orange color you are talking about. I think it was www.color-rite.com Quite a bit more than $3.50 per can though.

1986 Flash Red

I do know for sure honda used Flash Red color on thier 1986 cr"s. as far as where to get flash red paint I do not know. check out dupli color chrysler red engine spray paint I think this is pretty close. good luck

Tahitian red. Otherwise known as orangish red.

Flash red is the color, I believe Tahitian red was 82 and earlier. My local automotive paint shop will custom mix paints in a rattle can for you. Just bring a paint chip or have them look up the color code. It costs $14 a can and they have a minimum order of 2 cans. The paint may also be called lightning red and has a color code R119.

My 1989 has fighting red, I think my 1985 has Tahitian red, an orangish color. I go to auto zone and bring a fender and color match it closely, that should get you in the zone..
