An internet resistant buddy needs help getting his yz started on our hot socal days. Since he won't research, and I got tired of waiting for him while he kicked his brains out:p thought I'd research it a bit.

Do you yz250f guys find the ty davis setup works better than the stock button, or is it just more convenient. Thanks much,

Mark

It's just more convenient, he may want to check his fuel screw it could be a tad rich or lean...this is very critical on starting the 250F

Should it be leaned out a bit running at 3000 feet (gorman), or is that not enough to matter?

thanks,

I don't know about the YZ, but stock setting on the WR is 1 3/4 turns out. Mine is at either 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 and I am running at 5,000 feet.

and the bike must be set up to idle. It is a fast idle. Check the factory manual.
