How do we become brand-loyal zealots?

Morning, back at ya CR Swade :)

Are we seeing the bottles being thrown in disapproval? Yes. Small scale riots, fights, and fans beating down other fans, coaches , refs? Yes. In fact we witnessed a coachs' death this past year when the world seemed to get a much meaner. Without straying to far from the original question-how does this affect the future of our sport?

And this stuff sickens me, out of control sports fans, players, coaches etc Add to that FMX riders themselves inciting riots.

I guess these are all warning signs for SX, can't say it will never happen, just hope it never does.

At least with SX it is racing, no judges or refs, no team sport, and no WWF antics as yet. The glamour and glitz has definitely taken something away from the hardcore aspect of the sport. Once upon a time you could get your seat, focus on your own thoughts, do your own thing, now you are sucked up in the hype, music, lasers, fireworks etc. When the promoters themselves start hyping the good guy/bad guy stuff, then it will be the end.

Hope it never goes that way. :ugg:

Guess what..it all starts in the little league fields and the amatuer motocrosses. Look at the Hockey dads..1 killed another. Go watch the kids race and have fun and the dads about kill each other...I think thats another thread.whoa lost focus.
We have a new genration of enthusiast in our sport...short attention span and much hype...promoters have to do it to keep it growing. I do agree, when we have a good guy/bad guy duel that is promoted by the promoter then I will be finished with watching supercross and concentrating on GNCC. Boy, that Wattsy is my hero..oops more controversy, I see it coming!!

I hope it never goes that way either, but it probably will. Pace is, by its roots and affiliates, just a advertising company. If they found it would sell tickets they would have David Copperfield riding in the back of a monster truck driven by the back street boys making the riders appear out of a smoke cloud. Pace, sfx, clear channel entertainment, whatever you want to call it, would just as well have supercross be a half time show for rollerball if it meant more money for them. It gets me wound up thinking about it. I love supercross, but I think the money behind it currently encourages boos and crap with all their hype and glam. If you ever go to a race its addictive no matter how much you love the sport. Popularity of the sport can be good I quess. Its just hard to think that when you go to your favorite riding spot and you cant even find a place to park. Sorry for my incontunuity of thoughts, Im starting to rant.

Throw in some land mines, and I'd actually pay to see that...........

Personally, I think land mines are the next big thing in FMX also. Well, at least they ought to be.

And just because I gotta use it.....:moon:

I think we become brand-loyal because when we buy a new bike we have to get the same color gear, then when we want a new bike we have to get a bike that matches our gear. Shallow.:think
