Hey there,

Recently picked up a '96 KDX200 on which a previous owner installed the short kickstart lever. I know it's a popular mod, but I'm not real crazy about it for a number of reasons.

My question is this; what's the problem with the stock lever that makes the hybrid lever such an attractive option?

Thanks,

Original lever is too long, heavy and can bend. It can be awkward balancing on a hill, and kick high lever.

I made a hybrid from a KX, and was all happy, untill I banged my inside arch on the footpeg using the short kicker. I never thought of the clearence! Untill you've done it, It may be hard to envision the pain, and trying to ride with a black & blue arch.

Long story short, the stock one is back on!
