I just finished up a recently purchased '93 RMX250 (also an '89 YZ125, but that's another post...)
The RMX had sat in a garage for 5 years, I picked it up for $500.
It needed a new rod and crank bearings/seals, and the cylinder was about due for a replating, but in fairly decent shape. I scored a freshly sleeved '94 cylinder on ebay for $200, the sleeve was done well and the port matching looked great. After a good cleaning and complete rebuild, I got it back together. Scored new fenders, seat cover and frame guards plus tons of misc. small parts on the cheap (thanks again ebay), and had the pipe done by Pacific Crest Pipe Repair, this was the 2nd pipe they did for me and it looks great! I will be sending the forks and shock to Factory Connection this winter, they did my 1st RMX and it was perfect. Here's a couple of pics...

Hey Dennis! Welcome back :) I can't see the pictures at work but sounds like a good project. Are you coming back up north or are you a southern boy for good now?

I'm actually going to be back in NY the weekend after Halloween. I will probably bring the Beta for a little Trials riding, great fun for those of us getting a little "advanced" in years... ;)

Indy, The cap is there, just very dirty and it has a very short pipe protruding from it... I'm waiting for the silencer packing to get here before I bother cleaning that end!
