Congratulations

Marcus there is nothing like having a little one to corrupt:cool: with all your thoughts, values, and hobbies.
I was also scared about the thought of being a dad but once it happens it is the greatest thing going. As far as loosing the toys- No way once you get the kid hooked on all your fun things you have to buy double. You may not have the most current thing going (I know from experiance) and keeping up with the kid is rough on the pockets but it is well worth it.
Now get out there and start looking for that PW- you know they aren't going to get any cheaper ( that is my tactic and it works;) )

Congrats! You won't have to give up any toys. But, you can say good-bye to sleep for a while. When mine were babies, I was so tired that when I was getting my 5 minutes of sleep I would dream about sleeping. For real! On the way to work in the morning I seriously considered getting a motel room and sleeping all day. Figured I better not have my truck parked outside a motel all day.:)

Congratulations!! I agree with a previous poster. Don't sell anything now because you won't be able to buy it back. I've ridden a good bit since my baby was born in March of '00.

Good luck!

Congrats, Marcus! Welcome to daddyhood!
If you think you enjoy the "release" of riding now, just wait til "it" becomes a teenager! If it's a girl, the bike will come in useful... you know, dragging the little male bastages around the block and all...

Enjoy man, there is nothing better.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Right on and congrats, man!! I'm a new member to the daddy club, too. Well, sorta. Mines 18 months and going strong. The first 6 months were really trying b/c that's the first time I've ever dealt w/an infant. You get the swing of things quick, thou'. Everything gets better from there on out (except around the teenage years. there's no cure for that one:mad: ). These last couple of months have been awesome! She's running around the new house, getting into everything, having fun, all of it. I've got an ear-to-ear whenever I'm with her (except for that certain changing time:eek: ). You'll love him/her. This is THE best thing that ever happened to me.

Cheers, Markus!

My best advise is to offer to get up with the kid when he wakes at night. It may be tough but will pay back great dividends in the future. You will be mama's hero. BTW...that doesn't mean throwing him in the boot until he stops crying. :debil:

Ahhhh a newborn baby, just remember it doesn't last long - Don't let your wife hog all the cuddling from that baby because soon you will be sorry you missed the chance.. I have a seven month old and haven't missed a second but he is already becoming independant!!! Spend all your free time with that baby that you can - your dirtbike isn't going anywhere... and when someone offers to baby sit - Don't be SUPERPARENTS there is no such thing... take them up on the offer and get in some hubby/wifey time... or take a friggin nap :)

Congratulations,
JeffK

Congrats!! There's nothing better than riding with your own kid.

For me it was more fun when I could actually beat him in a race. Those days are over.

Congrats!

best advice I can give is...Patience.

Kids are wonderful and help you see the world in a new way. And try and remember kids do not always do as you say, but they will always do as you do. Everything they learn about how to treat others will be from watching you.

Got my son started riding at 2-1/2 on a mini **** (see pic in signature). He's 4 now and just about ready for his first two-wheeler.
