Is a 125 an 85 with big wheels?

I am thinking about getting a 125. Is it basically just an 85 with big wheels? I know it has 40 more cc but it also weighs 50 more pounds. So would a 125 have a lot more speed/power than the 85 or what?

125s have a larger frame, everything. The suspension is way bigger, frame, engine, pretty much everything. It is a completely different bike than an 85.

I'll tell you this, the hit on an 85 is much harder than that of most 125's. So given it has more power, its more spread out.

glitch is exactly right u will get alot more bang for buck out of an 80-85cc (power wise) than uwill from a 125 but you'll probably be more happy with a bigger bike as it rides alot smoother just dont expect to be doing wheel stands from the 125 i have owned several motor bikes my RM80 was a beast but once i upped to a 125 all the fun of the power was lost untill i relised the 250 is a bigger version of an 80 now thats where the fun starts *evil grin*

That's because most of the 85s lack power valves. That makes them coming on the pipe even more pronounced than a 125.
