Hi there

My local car accessory shop has a special on Semi Synthetic SJ 10W40 car oil (4litres).I wanted to know if this oil would be safe to use in my CR125 ???? Will there be clutch slippage if i use this oil ??
Would'nt this oil be the same as eg Motol 10W40 Semi Synthetic?

Cheers

depends on whether or not there are friction modifiers in it. I guess it "might" work just as well as any other oil NOT designed with a bike in mind. If your just trying to save money use ATF and change it often. Otherwise you ought to stick with something designed for the bottom end of a motorcycle in mind. Car engineers werent thinking of wet clutches when designing their fluid. At least ATF engineers were.

just switched to ATF type F. Best stuff i have used, especially at $1.49 a quart. I've used gear saver and many others but this is the best for the money and have no clutch problems like i was having before with other oils.

$1.49 a quart. Its $4.88 a gallon at Wally mart. We change oils every 2 motos on our bikes in the summer. At that price you can't not change it.
