Kawasaki dealer ordered me the wrong KX 500 service manual?

I had the local kawasaki dealer order me the service manual for my 2002 KX 500, and guess what I got. I got a friggin manual for 1988 KX 125/250/500. I also ordered the KX 500 service manual SUPPLEMENT, which coveres KX 500's from 1990-2004.

I got thinking about it, and I was wondering if they don't even MAKE a newer service manual than for 1988, and if the service manual just coveres the specs for the bikes newer than 1988?

I noticed that if you look in the 1988 service manual, it says that the back tire is a different tire than what it really is on a 2002, along with the main jet size, etc., but if you go and look in the service manual supplement, it tells you the correct info, which is different than the older manual.

This is retarded in my opinion; its like kawasaki was to lazy to make a manual newer than 1988, so they came up with this stupid supplement, which costs and extra 15 bucks, on top of the $60 or so you just paid for the actual service manual!

Or did my kawasaki dealer just mess up and get me the wrong service manual?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I bought a svc manual for my 2001 kx250 for about $30, It is well used.. I think your dealer messed up

Actually I just looked up the service manual for my 2002 KX 500 on the kawasaki website, and it is the same exact friggin one that is listed for the 1988!!

I think my theory about the manual/supplement is correct.

They haven't changed the KX500 for a long time so I could see their logic.
