KDX Headlight Bulb

I have heard that the kdx headlight bulb was a common John Deere part and it was much less expensive than a kaw part. Here is the fax.

My friendly folks at JD Power in London worked a while trying to come up with the part.

The original bulb is halogen. Is this John Deere bulb also halogen?
That would be great for that price. I found a standard bulb at the honda/yami shop for about $5 or $6.

Looks the same. I do not know if the new one is halogen or not. I will let you know if I can tell the difference.

I just bought a bulb for my kdx from my local bike shop....$1.50 Its not halogen, but is nice and bright. $22 for a Kawi bulb from dealer, thats just crazy.

I replaced my bulb recently (just call me butterfingers!) with a honda spec bulb at about $12. I think it was a Warrior atv.

I just ran it around the back yard at night and it looks pretty good. It is hard to compare with the Halogen I ran a year ago. There could be a difference but it is good enough for me.

Does the bulb blow if running wide open?

Thanks for the lead on the JD bulb. I hope to get one for my bike this w/end. Our local JD dealer has them for $5.02 also.
