kdx to kx front suspension

I want to switch my 200 kdx front suspension to kx.
Does any one know how much it would cost and where i can find everything?

You would need upper and lower fork clamps of appropriate size, the forks themselves, possibly steering stem and bearings, front rim from a KX (or just the hub if you want to relace all the spokes) and possibly the caliper assembly. Additionally, you'll probably need brakelines and cables.

you will need a KX triple clamp,forks and wheel . you can use your old front brake it will bolt on the KX forks, you will have to go to a machine shop and press out the KDX stem and have it pressed in the KX triple clamp, get some 30,000th shim stock to make up the slack in the top triple, use the KX stem nut as a spacer below the top clamp.

i could just buy a newer bike with better suspension.

drn automaticaly turns the word Éßăÿ into asterisks so you have to place the word "Éßăÿ" where the asterisks are in the links.

Buy a 2002 YZ 250, add a torque pipe and a heavy flywheel weight and its better than a KDX all the way around. Not too much hit, more low and mid-range torque, 10 lbs lighter, and a much better suspension.

Your advice is solid but the cost of a 02 yz compared to a 00 200Kdx can be a deal breaker for a 17 year old.

I have a good job so i could get the money pretty fast.
about $600-700 a month.

the kdx is a great TRAIL bike but thats it. when you come off one and go ride a late model mx bike you realise how dated the kdx is, i mean lets face it the design hasent changed since 95'. its much easier (and cheaper) to tame down a mx bike than it is to hop up a kdx.
