Going to do my best to explain this. My kickstart falls off and it doesn't look like there is any way to tighten it on the gear. (99 kx 250). It does look like the gear the kickstart slides onto is hollow and may be threaded. Can't get a good look inside. SHould there be some kind of a stopper screwed in there to keep the kickstart on? It works fine, it just slides right off....
Thanks again!!

Yes, there should be a bolt with a washer that screws into the shaft..... it must have vibrated out. Get a new one.... and use some locktite on the threads when you screw it back in.

Shanet,

Don't buy one from the motorcycle shop, go to your local hardware shop... and get (1) 8x20mm hex head bolt, and (1) 8mm Thick Washer... you can probably do it for about 50 cents. Remember to put some blue loctite on it to keep it from coming back out!
