I need heavier springs for my 06 250 SX-F, and several aftermarket places are recommending straight rate springs for the rear shock. I was under the impression that KTM's had a progressive rear spring, but they said that KTM stopped putting those on a few years ago. Anyhoo, most recommended .48 for the forks and an 8.8 for the rear. About 225-230 lbs. Sound right???

Starting in 04 all ktms have used straight rate springs. However many suspension tuners recomend a progressive with their valving.

The fork springs sound about right, but I would go stiffer in the rear. 9.0 or 9.2 for your weight.

I just changed from a straight rate to a progressive rate and it a new bike. With out going into to much detail, you will loose the plushness by going to a straight rate spring, do a search here on it and also at KTMtalk.com before you buy your new spring.
