I was at an Enduro today (South Scotland) and got talking to a guy who had what looked like a KDX. He told me he thought it was an early Fredette conversion, that it was basically a KX fitted with a KDX engine. He said it was lighter but the main advantage was the suspension.
Has anyone any idea's on this conversion?
Is it common and how easy is to drop a KDX motor in there?
Would it differ depending on model year?

A number of questions there I know, but I would be interested in any info anyone has ........ I still haven't found a decent S/Hand 200/220 yet!!! :worship:

Hi UKtrail,

Im down in Yorkshire and come up your way a couple of times a year. All the used KDX's round these parts are dogs too.

Hold out for a good one and it will last a while. Ive owned mine for about 3 years now and I wouldn't sell it for anything other than another newer KDX.

The owner of the local dealership in Boise has a wrecked '02 KDX220 that he bought from an insurance company. It has low hours on it, and he plans to put the motor in a CR125 chassis..........That ought to be a FUN bike!
