Hi there,

I've just finished completely rebuilding my 1990 kx250. It runs great and has far more power than i will need. However the rear end is causing a few problems.

When i try to jump it or ride really rough uneven hard ground the back end is constantly in the air. On jumps the rear really rises, even on constant throttle.

I have setup the rear sag (static 25 mm, racing 95mm), the shock has been fully serviced with new seals, 5 wt oil and 170 psi nitrogen.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Mark.

the rebound may be set too strong, if it has one. That usually causes the rear to rise like that or the front is set too soft for rebound. The rear spring may have been changed and is not stock, not sure. It may be a stiffer spring for a heavier rider in the past.
