My bike's leakin' tranny oil from somewhere around the front sprocket. I'm assuming there's a seal there that I've busted. Before I take it apart, I want to know if I can get at this from there by just taking the sprocket and a few things apart or if I should take it to a shop. Whadya think? Anyone else have this happen?

Oh yeah - on an '03 CR250... right after I got back from the mountains.

I'm not 100% on this, but I'm fairly certain the output shaft seal is on the outside of the case requiring you to only remove the sprocket to get at it.

Good luck...

Yeah, you should be able to pry it out with a small screwdriver.. Just take your time.

It doesn't require removing more than just the counter shaft sprocket.

I would clean the bike good, drain the oil, take front sprocket off, then pry off old seal. After this I would really clean the area where the seal goes. After that, put back together, add the correct amount of oil, then jam.
