You might need to replace the relay spring (or whatever it's called) Not fun, I hate doing them... You could open it up and see if something is out of place, or what exactly the problem is...

where the kick starter is loose is not on the splines. thats perfectly fine. i took the kick starter off and there is 2 peices. that kicker arm and the part that bolts on the splines. where its loose is where the kicker arm goes into the part that bolts onto the splines.(where the arm swivles) there is a spring and a ball bearing and they seem to be working. i think its just worn out. ive heard of people putting a sleeve in it but i dont know how they do it or what the use to sleeve it. i dont know

I thought you had internal problems, with the kickstart mech. Buy a new kick starter, or go to a motorcycle junk yard and find one that will work...

I put some rubber o-rings on the shaft that fits inside the kick starter arm and greased it up. It helped some, but they need replacing from time to time and sometimes get caught by the bolt that screws in to hold the arm on. I am going to try some carefully placed JB-weld and see how that works. I also stretched the spring out so that the ball bearing would push harder on the shaft and help keep it from moving.

I doubt any of that will work. There are a lot of forces being applied at that joint and you need solid metal to suport it.

You can try to drill out the hole and press a sleeve into it that matches the post but make sure it has a hole in the right place for the ball to detent into. Other than thet you need a new one. If you do but a new one make sure you disassemble it and grease it real good so it lasts longer the next time. They don't come with much grease.
