making a rm 125 more user friendly

hey guys just got a 1995 rm 125 ? is i want to make this an all around trail and mx bike i know 2 strokes are high strung :ohmy:

just need to tame it a little to make it more versitile
it has fmf gold series pipe on it now what would a good silencer/muffler to use with it
should i change my reeds and reed cage
its got good top end but low to mid is a little flat
going to have this bike for while so i want to do it right
might even start racing it soon

Have done heavy mods to a 98 125 to make it more trail friendly...you may find some info if you use the "search thread" button...

i would start by changing the front sprocket go down one tooth 13 to a 12 for example this is what i did to my yz 125 and it climbs much better and doesnt want to stall half as much
