Yes, damn the ungoers! :( Damn the me. :ugg:

This not going stuff is gonna suck (already does suck) real bad. I am envious of all of you people going again. And I'm sorry that I'll miss the expessions of the DW newbies as they experience how things should be in this world.

Have fun guys n gals. We'll keep the lights on.

I have some old footage of DW02 if anyone wants to see the original smacktalk race between Lou and me. This got turned into the Clash of the Titans Race in future years.

I wanted to go in 2003 and I went. It was great. So many new friends. I am now bikeless and it feels weird. I think I'll go outside and throw myself against a tree and roll in the mud (if it were only red). That should help but, I'll still miss one of the best times I ever had. Thanks to all of you. Have fun ;)

I am deeply saddened by my lack of recognizing the ONLY person that has taken a decent picture of me while riding. Forgive me Master.... Like I said.... you've got a great eye for that photag stuff!!!

Let's see....by Dirtweek '06 I'll have a 16 month old and a 7 month old....might be able to pull DW06 off (if I have a bike).

Usually takes us about 10 hours to get to Stillwater, so with two kids we should be there in a couple of days....

Phil has wanted to go since he joined DRN in '99. That year he couldn't, he was recovering from a shattered foot. 2000-2003 he was in school at the University of Wyoming. After we met and I joined DRN he was off to school again and I was here in Michigan. I wouldn't go without him. '04 we got married so money was kinda tight. My parents paid for the wedding, but we had to have money for the honeymoon. Then we decided that I needed a newer vehicle...Then this year we bought a house...ugh it never ends!! We really, really want to go next year. Maybe we should start saving up...like NOW! We saved up for 9 months for our honeymoon. We should do the same for DW!

So... DW '06 or bust! :aj:

Thanks Pokie! We were talking about it yesterday...I do get 3 weeks of vacation starting in June...DW would be a perfect excuse to take one....Then I'll have a chance to rest up before the busy season hits. We can't take vacation from Nov. 1-Jan.1

Join the club. I didn't make last years and this years due to job and fundage conflicts. I'm actually pretty glad that I didn't get all up for it this year as I had a bad crash and have spent most of the week home in pain. I will post on it a bit later. It was wild, but the doc says no bike time for a most of fall :( I couldn't come even if I had the time off!

Yeah we have a very similar story
Had gotten all hyped for DW then Spider found out 2 of his classes had big projects this week which would be 1/2 his semester grade in each class. I tried to figure a way to fly him out later in the week then I shatterred a tooth and so far almost $1500 into reconstruction we couldn't afford it.
Then last Sunday Spider went down hard in his 2nd moto (jumped a blind downhill jump to see 2 bikes laying in the track) and ended up taking a major beating. Xrays show nothing broken but his hip is so bruised he couldn't even get his leg over the bike as of yesterday.
The one upside is my wife's job may very well relocate to St Louis so it takes 400 miles off the trip next year :aj:

My back is healing, but still haven't thrown a leg over the scoot. Pastout, Jared and I should all be good to go next year. I can't believe we missed a DW! We haven't missed one until this year. Hope everyone had a blast!

Glad to know I was not the only soul out there how plans were dashed by unexpected crap. They say the misrable love company :( I unexpectedly ended up buy a PT cruiser for my Girl. He 99 escort ZX2 was attached by a 96 tahoe in a parking lot and totaled! A mear 2 weeks after we paid it off! That and the doc bills from my crash are going to make sure I will not recover for at least a month or 2. I just need to increase the "Emergency Fund" a little when I put it back in the bank. It has it's own account.

Well, it's late night here in New England on the last night of DW ... the die hard crowd is probably hanging out by the fire, telling stories and enjoying the end of a great week.

The last night at DW has always been a bitter-sweet thing for me.

Bitter = Knowing I have to get up early Sunday morning, pack everything up and go back home.
Sweet = Sitting around the fire and having a good time with new and old friends, smiling and knowing that I had just had a week I will never forget.

Can't wait to have that feeling again ... DW06!!!
