It's that friendly service that keeps me coming back to Muenster. But actually, I'm going to M. this Thursday. I'll be out of town this weekend, but I'm going to try to ride the enduro on the 21st, in the old, slow guys' class. Maybe a couple of my sons will ride with me. The Kiamichi is just so blasted good. I have GPS tracks laid down for a 70-mile loop out of the state park, up the One Mile of Hell, over to the White Rocks, down Billy Creek to Muse, and back on the Indian Nations Trail. Also have some cool trails marked on the west side of the highway. Next I want to hit the Billy Creek loops and the Winding Stair area. I still love Muenster, but I just get tired of the attitude out there. I spent about a thousand dollars there last year. I don't think I'll spend a quarter of that this year. Wish somebody would buy it who understands dirt bikers and actually likes people.
I agree. Kiamichi is awesome! It gives the feeling that you can't get even at Muenster; it's like the huge riding areas out west where you can just go, and go, and go...
I'd love to ride Thursday, but probably can't. (Hmmm, maybe I can reschedule some meetings...). If not, I'm definitely going to Muenster on Saturday.
Speaking of which: if you ever ride anywhere that is government managed (like Kiamichi, Moab, Cloudcroft, Colorado, etc...), do support the Blue Ribbon Coalition? They're the guys working to preserve our riding areas. I just set myself up with a small automatic monthly contribution on their website. I won't even notice the amount, but it adds up to a tidy contribution over a year. Go to this link and take action!
i will be at muenster sunday if anyone wants to ride!!! jmd lets get another ride going to the kiamooch what a great place to ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, the Kiamichi is a good place to ride and all, but it just isn't Muenster Muenster IMO. We've only been there once, but we need to make a trip out with you Jim now that you've gotten a nice loop set up.
Muenster definately needs some different people to run it, but that won't likely happen for a while. They seem to be cracking down harder on minor offenses nowdays too. Lewis caught me going a little too fast in the pits a few rides back and told me that he didn't care how long I'd been coming there and he wouldn't have a problem with throwing me out for good. Not exactly good customer service.
But, the fact remains that they have a great place to ride, and I will continue to ride there. Why let some jerks ruin your day of riding? Deal with them in the morning and ride the rest of the day and forget about it.
I will try to make it out this weekend. It is starting to look sketchy, though. I'll keep posted.
I will be there Saturday for sure, probably camping out Friday night through Sunday afternoon.
I'll be parked through the second gate in the meadow on the right side of the gravel road. On the other side of the pavillion there is a large tree we always park by. Look for a dark grey F-150 4x4, small travel trailer, KTM 250 SX, and a CR 85. The truck has a large "Dirtrider.net" decal across the top of the windshield-can't miss it!
Oops. Spilled the beans. Oh well. It wasn't that exciting anyway. This is what I'll be on most of the weekend, but I'll have the 250 along too. Riding these two back-to-back is quite an experience!
Well, since I can't post pictures or links to pictures, email or IM me and I'll shoot you a primitive drawing of where we will be parked Saturday. :bang:
I am heading out after work on Friday Night, should get there around 9ish. I will be camped out and staying through Sunday mid-afternoon. Like I mentioned before, I'll be parked in the second gate in the big meadow on the right side of the gravel road, next to a big tree out in the middle of the field. Look for a Dark grey F-150 4x4(Dirtrider.net) across windshield), a small travel trailer, the KTM 250 and the CR85 pictured above.
