The MuensterFest is set for this weekend, Friday through Sunday. I have the combination for the third gate. I have attempted to PM everybody who expressed interest. However, some attempts were not successful; some of you are not accepting PMs, or are not allowed to receive them. If you have not received a PM and you want to attend, please PM me, or call me at (214) 437-9187. I'll give you the run down.

For those not familiar with the area: to get to the Red River Motorcycle Trails (the proper name of the park), from Dallas, go north on 75 to Gainesville; take 82 west toward Wichita Falls; go about 13 miles to Muenster. In Muenster, take a right at the first stoplight, Highway 373, and head north. Go 30 mph in town; they're strict. At the north end of town the road will bend to the left; continue around the bend. It will bear northwest for a quarter-mile or so, then turn again to the north. Follow 373 17 miles from the stoplight in Muenster where you turned. You'll pass a golf course, a couple of old cemeteries. After 17 miles you should see the front gate of the park on your right. There is an old trailer and a new cabin, painted gray. That's the first gate. The second gate is fifty yards farther. The third gate is a bit farther than the second, but is also on your right. It will be the next gate you see after the second gate. There will be lots of locks on it. Ours is the shiniest, I think. One trick on these locks: after you dial in the combo, you have to push up on the lock, then pull down for it to open. If you have any problems, call me on my cell (214) 437-9187. It doesn't always work up there, so you may have to have someone climb the fence and come find somebody to help you. But we'll be there.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr ....

It tells me I am trying to send you spam! :debil:

I reread the post and there isn't a single thing about pills, enlargement, enhancement, endurance or anything else that SHOULD trigger a SPAM filter! :clue:

Go figure!

Clump, it's open to anybody who wants to come. Muenster is mostly semi-tight woods, with some fast, sandy trails, some whoops, some rocks. Great place, 2,500 acres. Costs $8 a day. If you want to come, PM me for the gate code, or call my cell number (214) 437-9187. Come on out!

MuensterFest

Can anyone join? I just got my first bike about 4 weeks ago and I planned on riding it the first time at Muenster this Friday the 16th along with my Brother-In-Law from Oklahoma. But I found this thread and called them and they said it is closed from Wednesday to Sunday. I'm wanting to ride all day Friday and everywhere I've called said they open at 5:00 pm on Friday which doesn't work for me. Muenster seems to be the only place around that is open all day Friday. Can we join you on Friday? Or does anyone know of another place around DFW that's open all day Friday? Please help cause I've been waiting for this Friday since I bought the bike and now it seems like everything is closed.

Thanks,
Shawn

I got your e-mail Jim. Thanks! My bad for not telling you to remove the space between the "@" and "texoma.net"

Tony, you trying to send me your unwanted spam?

Is there an Itenerary? I would like to ride the places we can't normally get to but wont be able to make it until Saturday morning.

Thanks for the firewood! :aj: I feel less skeerd now.

If someone needs me to send a drawing of the third gate directions, let me know and I can get it off an old Trials event document. Here is a better way to find it:

Go past the main gate for @ 1/2 mile until you see an old windmill. Turn right on the dirt road beside the windmill and follow the gravel road to a green metal gate with a bunch of locks on it. It will be after a S turn on the dirt road and you can't miss it. If you get to a bridge, you have gone too far. I think I have some pink ribbon that I can tie on it if that will help.

Keith, excellent directions. About riding the places we normally can't, I'm not sure. I don't think Mrs. Harris wants us in Bill's Woods and the Schoolhouse section. Maybe some of the Red River Dirt Riders will come out and take us through them. No real itinerary. I was thinking I would set up a little trials section Friday for use on Sunday. Maybe we'll do a little hill-climb event one day, and maybe we'll all go into town Friday or Saturday for dinner. Real organized, eh?

Shawn, you're certainly welcome. Call me for the gate code.

Not sure if we'll end up being there or not. I need to go get my new fork springs from SMS sometime this week. I guess if I can get them installed this week, I can use Sunday as an excuse to go "test" the the race the next weekend. I know my dad won't want to go, he reinjured the arm that he hurt a year ago last weekend at the TCCRA race. It might be me and the little lady though. Just depends on how tired I am and how far along her moving is going (her mom is moving on Thurs.. ack!)
