Nothing against our Euro friends, but I've got to tell ya, (the round in Italy) that was one boring track. I don't think I've seen one that smooth and simple since the 70's. Good to see Everts ride though. They made a big deal about him riding in two classes? 1 moto each... why not?

Dont watch the bulguria GP then, Italy was alot better. That was the 1st time ever i think they went to that italian track, the one they used to was alot better. I think they make a big deal about the 2 motos because of the turn around time, with press after the race, cooling down, setting yourself up for the next moto and the other stuff they do between motos, and its around 30 mins inbetween motos i think...but puts the other guys that Everts and Smets beat to shame when they only have to do half the races the guys winning do. Some action is better than none is it not??

I thought the track would have been fun. Its neat to see how different their tracks are. It was really wide open and sweeping turns. It looked like they were hauling. They said everts average speed in the 250's was 52.8 km/h. What is that in mph? I think I saw the Italy race (the first one), and did any of you see those guys trying to low-jump? Or did you see Everts celebrations whips in the 125 class. I think we need to get James out there to show those guys how to low jump and show them what a real whip looks like. And did you see their "whoops"? Looked like a couple small doubles to me. No one actually tried to skim them because they were so big. I have no idea why the announcer called them whoops instead of doubles or even a rythem section. It was very neat to watch though. I think this is probably the first time ive seen it. I hope they have a good sand track on speed.

I have to aggree with Okie. I caught part of it by accident last night and couldn't get over how wide and smooth the track was. Certianly not much block passing going on.

y'know, the commentary sounded like it belonged with a cricket match or something. And they called those "whoops"?

Looked like a fun track for a full amateur like me to ride ;)

I would love to ride on those tracks. Nice, wide, smooth, with very doable, fun looking jumps. Also, just about everybody was on a 4-stroke.

That anouncer is very bad.

I think there was another post that we all went on about how bad the commentator is.....lets just say he's british, though Murry Walker was good. Isnt a rythem section and whoops termonolgy outa supercross.....and arent the GP's motox....but would everyone say that if they turned a paddock into a taped track and then said this was a round of the world GP's, would you guys still say its not up to par?? But like you guys i say the tracks are to flat, and dusty and they all seem to be hard-pack tracks, and hardly ever get cut up and form any ruts.

That converts to roughly 12mph.  Or in laymens terms,  Bubba and RC would lap the field in 4.2 laps.

Did anyone catch the first race on about lap 3 when one of the spectators at the fence was about 2 feet from the camera and flipped Pichon off when he went by? The camera was so close and this guy could have been one of the mechanics, he was so close to Pichon when he went by. It was funny as $%#@%.

Uhhh might want to check the math on that one  52.8 km/h converts to 32.81 mph. :thumb:

Hey karterron, I did see that. I was watching it at my Dad's house and we were laughing so hard. It almost looked like the guys hand would hit Pichon in the face he was so close.

I was converting World MX Championship speed to US National speed. I may have been a little high, on the European speed. May only be 3.5 laps before RC and Bubba would lap the field.

How great would it be to watch Bubba on his 125 run in that World GP class. Does anyone think he wouldn't win against the 250's and 450's? Too bad Dorna has messes up the MX DesNations so bad. It would have been fun to watch RC and Bubba against Pichon, Everts, and Smets.

99Cr, I reran the tape because I didn't think I saw what I thought I saw. I was laughing my tail off when I rewound and saw how close to Pichon he was when he flipped him the bird. He could have slapped Pichon up the side of his head.

just like they do at the SX and AMA nats :thumb: all of this AMA guys are faster than FIM guys is getting really old. Mike Brown couldnt win the world championship but he needed Langstons wheel to fall apart to win the AMA nationals. Reed came second to Pichon and it seems he is doing an equally good job in coming second to RC outdoors (despite the fact he was really good at SX).

in the US, there is no doubt that Bubba and RC are head and shoulders above the rest- but the same runs true for Pichon and Everts in the GP's. and for all the other riders, i dont think there is any difference in speed for AMA vs FIM

Hmmm the doubters are back-didnt we hear some serious backtracking on reeds performance this season in SX;) -reed can ride MX trust me on this-no one expected him to get 2nd in the world GPs(on his first attempt) and it wasnt until the last race that he secured 2nd place.

Notice that the fastest guys in america are younger than the fastest guys in the GP's. Good or bad for the GP guys?? Or would it come down to experince on whatever track and where they are racing?? Saw the swedish GP last night, great racing and Everts is truely the best att he moment in the GP's, but on the big bike Smets is unstoppable, love to see him race his big bike againist Everts 450, and Smets had the fastest laps in the MXGP class, lap after lap he was making the fastest lap his own.
