Not sure. I haven't had a chance to look it over good. It needs a headlight cause the original owner removed it for hare scrambles. It's my first 2 stoke in 14 years.
Could be 45mm Marzocchi Magnum forks, similar to mid '90's KTMs. I think the 50mm Marzocchi forks came out in '97 on the KTM. Might also be something unusual, like a 46mm Paoli fork.
All those can be made to work well, and I bet that bike is very nice in the woods stone stock.
I'd love to ride that thing! Those early GGs ('97-'98) had a counterbalanced engine that is reported to be oh-so-smooth and "stall-proof," a bit like a trials bike.

I had a '98 EC250 and that engine was smooth as butter. The counter-rotational mass took away the "hit" making the bike easier to ride in snotty conditions. GG did away with the counterbalance shaft in '99 and improved crank balancing.
Forks are 45mm 'zokes. One side adjusted compression and the other rebound. Strange, but it worked pretty good for off-road. You either needed to get the sliders hard-anodized or change oil frequently.
Everyone keeps saying nice RM. Haha Look again.
Found out the other day that the carb is a quad vent PWK off a rmx250. Now I have to figure out the jetting. :whoa:
