Need Air box lid, and snorkle

I've got a 1999 KDX220.

I used to have a KDX250.

What do people do to "waterproof" their bike for deep crossings?

I've noticed my bike bog on deep crossings.. Is it the lack of T'ed off carb hoses? Or is it the lack of air box lid? I've never T'ed off carb hoses on another bike before, and never watered out, but this bike just doesn't like water at all.

I HAVE A AIR BOX TOP FROM A 96 KDX 200 IF YOU ARE STILL LOOKING. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM W/ WATER BUT MY GUESS WOULD BE THE "T" LIKE YOU MENTIONED.
