Need help! Powervalve assembly question!!!

Hey guys, I am coming to you for HELP! I am rebuilding my CR250 for the first time ever (2001) and I have a problem. I have the head/top end off, I also have the powervalve cover off. This morning I was cleaning my powervalve with some brake cleaner(still assembled) then a pin fell out. It a 3 inches long, metal pin and I dont know where it goes. I have an idea... and I have posted a pic of where it will fit, but it will NOT go in flush, still sticks out like 3cm(out of the hole it fits in, the powervalve cover will still go on) ANYWAYS I need to know where it goes, and if I have it in the right spot-how to get it to go in! I have posted a bunch of pics... thanks in advance!

If you go to the service honda site you can get diagrams,,, from the diagrams you should be able to find where things go!
