On-Line Stock Trade

Anyone every use any of those on line stock traders, like
scottrade or e-trade? Was thinking about fooling around with it. I've used brokers in the past, but they give you their spill of why your picks are bad and their's is good. Sometimes I think they know no more than anyone else.

I use etrade, it works good enough. Just don't get the idea that you sign up and go, it takes a bit for the account to get funded from your transfer.

What about after everything is setup? When you buy and sell does the transaction’s take place in a reasonable amount of time. When selling do they credit your account quickly or does it days maybe weeks.
