Hey guys. My dad made reservations for us at the Hyatt Regency at Beaver Creek in mid January. It's one of the two 6-star hotels for skiing in America. Who here has been there? How's the lobby? Mountain? Rooms? Hot tubs? Anything else? Any ideas wanted.
If you can afford to stay at the Hyatt in Beaver Creek then you will love it. I am from the Vail Valley and we stayed there for our honey moon. It is right at the base of the mountain and they have bell boys to take your ski's so you just ski up, take em off and head to your room. I remember the hot tub and pool being nice. The rooms are very nice and pretty roomy. Lucky for you we just got a bunch of snow so the slopes will at least be open. Hopefully by Jan. there will be even more snow. Call me if you want recommendations on where to eat and what runs to ski.
We stayed there in a Condo that was through the same hotel. Awesome place, the nicest place you'll ever stay. It was summer when we were there so I don't know about the snow skiing.
Been there a couple of times - dad had way too many frequent flyer pts. I really like the skiing - I'm a high intermediate/low advanced skier and there is plenty of terrain to keep you entertained. Never had a problem with lift lines.
The hotel is great - the ski storage is right at a lift. They take your skis and bring you little slippers and take your boots. Talk about being pampered. The first time we went we showed up in jeans/sweaters - everybody else at the bar in the lobby was wearing sport coats & dresses. Ever wondered what money smells like? You'll find out. The only negative was since it is a high end place you will experience some true snobs.
