Consistency wins again, as always. Reed ran 53's and 54's, Stewart was 52's and 53's before he went down. Both RC and Stewart made big mistakes.

Good for Reed. He's finally back, and he looks like he's gained some weight.

After the wreck, it looks like Bubba just pulled back to race another day. Maybe he's getting smarter?

If it wasn't for the 20 points Reed lost due to mechanical issues in Mudbowl 1 he would only be 9 points down and this would be a real tight season. Oh well,, just have to enjoy one race at a time. Bubba did better first race back than I expected. I expect will be running in the top three from here on. But Bubba in second won't help Reed. If Reed wins the rest RC still only needs 3rds the rest of the season to win the championship. And unless RC has a mechanical failure, I expect him on the podium every week and not necessarily in third.

How about the 125s Hansen and Langston tied with Milsaps 7 points back,

There is the three way battle we were all hoping for from the 250s.

I didn't get a chance to listen to the webcast, so I was interested to read the report on Transworld Motocross. JBS & RC had the lead over Chad, but these guys are pushing each other harder than ever and forcing each other to ride on the edge. Sounds like JBS & RC made mistakes that allowed Chad to take advantage.

Two wins in a row have definitley got to boost CR's confidence even more, and to top it off he beat his two toughest rivals.

Would we have seen the reverse order on the podium if JBS & RC did not fall? We'll never know. We can only wait until the next round.

I expected JBS to finish 4th or 5th, but he managed a podium as most predicted. Well done to CR, RC, & JBS.

Since Carmichael isn't dominating anymore, how about bringing back the VBets? LOL
Or was there another reason we stopped the betting? (Besides Rick on the top every weekend?)

I need a fix
Or loose some VCash

My love for supercross is slow begining to swell. after these last two races :aj: . stewart looks fast and it was awsome to see him do so well on his first ride back. Reed's style is back to normal and it is winning him races. Carmicheals seriousness is starting to effect his racing.

Start the bench racing I had hoped for this season! :p

Since this thread was titled SPOILER.. here's my input..

for those of you who werent there, let me just say bubba looked GREAT out there. Yeah, he went down in the main in the same spot he went down in practice. like RC, bubba needs to work on the whoops. But as mentioned by someone, these guys are pushing their bikes and themselves really hard.

Bubba smoked his qualifier and his heat race. I know everyone says RC holds back in the heats and practice. RC spent the entire heat race reading the numbers 259 off the back of Stewart's jersey. In the main, EVERYONE went to the outside of the first turn for the holeshot and bubba looked like he just snuck right in on the inside. He was out in front by the second turn. Before he went down in lap 8 or 10 (i forget).. he had a HUGE gap on both Reed and RC. After his crash, he got up after Reed went by, started his bike and looked like he just sat there for 2 or 3 seconds.. waiting for RC to go by.. i dont understand why he just waited, but he took off after RC and was catching him over the next few laps but then some guy wrecked in front him in front of one of the triples, and Stewart had to hit the brakes and single single single the triple... he just cruised around after that (that was like lap 18 i think).

I also have to give props to Reed. He just looked sooooo smoooth and comfortable saturday night. my girl and i were there from noon through to the main event watchin all the practice and qualifiers. Reed was just on it the whole day. Stewart was having a blast in practice and put on a show for the crowd scrubbing and throwing huge whips. Reed was all business all day.

Also, I hope they put Ferry's crash on TV. It's a miracle Ferry didnt get airlifted out of the stadium. He was going over a triple and hit the rear wheel of the guy in front of him in mid-air and instantly went over the bars IN MID AIR while his back started the end-over-end dance. that was crazy.

As for the 125's.. where did this McGourdy kid come from? He did horrible in his heat race, but his practices and qualifiers were awesome. if he could work on his consistency, i see a bright future there. Millsaps continued being Millsaps. He is the kid everyone seems to want to win, but he is like a bad luck charm! Yes, he won the main.. but man did he work for it throughout the day. Crashes, bad starts, and crashes continue to be his obstacles.. Grant Langston also had a HUGE wreck in practice (or was it a heat race).. hopefully they will air that too.

All in all it was a great day of racing.. all day long.. with Stewart finally back in and riding the way he is, you can BET he will finish top 3 the rest of the season.. and i can guarantee many of those podiums will be 1st place finishes. the first 8 laps was all Bubba just pulling and pulling and pulling away from Reed and carmichael. it was crazy. that kid is ridiculous.

of course, i had my 259 hat and jersey on. :-)

Didn't McGourdy lead the 125 main at Daytona last week? I think he did. Apparently, he's from Florida, according the the anouncers.

I don't remember him ever leading.. By the time they got around the little start oval and to the first set of whoops at Daytona, Josh Grant had the lead and stayed there until the end when he and Josh Hansen crashed and Hansen got up first.

Ah yes, it's all coming back to me. That McGourdy kid led Langston for about a half lap in his qualifier. Oh well, he looked fast for a couple of laps.

I guess this is where we talk about the race...since I haven't found a thread of comments after the ESPN2 airing.

I have to say that it is worth the wait and I'm glad I didn't catch the results before actually watching the race.

Bubba was definitely looking good...and it was awesome to see him putting the hurt on RC. I have to admit though....RC was not looking 100%. Not that 100% would have been enough to take it way from Bubba, but I don't think Bubba should have been destroying him that bad.

BIG Props to Reed for hanging by and capitalizing the way he did. I'm really starting to think differently about rider skill level vs. ability to win. It's not good to anyone if your rider pulls 49 second lap times, but can never finish a race. Reed seems to be the most controlled rider out there and definitely looks the smoothest. When you hang it out on the ragged edge like RC and Bubba do.........yes, you can win 1st place over the guy who is riding within his limits (Reed). But you can also plant yourself and toss races easily. It's nice to see that Reeds calm/collected style is good for more than just 2nd place.

I think RC and Bubba are every bit as lucky as they are skilled. And when your luck runs out....#22 is there to capitalize.

Awesome race.

Micah
