Seems like chad crashed in the main? but was only 1.4 seconds back? its not over but RC is a strong dude.

RC and Chad got out front right off the bat. Chad had the holeshot and RC ran him down. RC washed out on lap 6 or 7 and when he remounted was 9 seconds down. RC then set about tracking down Reed once again almost parking Windham in the process when Windham was getting in his way. When asked about the pass during the press conference Windham replied something along the lines of "it was an aggressive pass that he felt he had to make, I can't wait for an opportunity to return the favor."

We were there and it wasn't all that aggressive. Nothing compared the move Windham put on DV last year (the one that sent him flying off the track). I am sure DV is still waiting for his opportunity also.

If Reed was on an 04, a healthy Bubba and RC would be lucky to finish on the podium.
Iam sure that if Chad was faster on a '04 then he would be riding a '04. I don't understand why so many people diss Carmicheal the guy rides with more heart and works harder than any other rider I have seen.

Looking at the laptimes If RC didn't fall he would beat Reed by 10 seconds or more...

I think that race put the finishing touches of the answer of the question of who's better at SX.

If i ride so hard i fall off, but take the lap times of the laps i dont crash......... i could win alot more??you have to stay on to make it count-going fast and crashing doesnt prove you can ride at that pace, lets not foget one small crash by any rider can put them out easy, look at MCs crash -didnt look to bad but he was injured.

Looked like it to me too. Everyone else was passing on one side and Reed was on the other.

Out on the track, RC and Reed are on a whole nother level.. I think that when RC passed K-Dub, if K-Dub would of had something for him, he wouldnt of passed him so fast.. Everybody needs too step it up a notch or 2 IMO..

Even his voice reflected the shock of what had happened. The race was his he was already polishing the trophy when RC blew by him. I really think he figured he was just going to cruise to the win when he saw RC go down :ride: . He kept a great pace but RC showed he is not going to give anything away easy

Yep, Reed got whooped, plain and simple. He saw RC go down and then a few laps from the end, RC caught him, passed him, and left him for dead. He clearly isn't on RC's level and this race proved it beyond a doubt. In the post-race interview I couldn't tell if he wanted to puke or cry. I think he just realized that RC's going to win this title unless something really, really bad happens to him. Honestly, I felt bad for the man as I'm sure the last thing he wanted right then was a TV camera in his face. Jamie Little can stay, but the camera had to go. ;)

As for Windham, he should worry about getting faster and not "returning the favor" to RC. Didn't Windham get lapped last weekend? Yeah, RC's pass was agressive, but you do what you have to do to get past backmarkers in a situation like that. Every second RC was behind Windham was giving Reed time to get away. I just hope he doesn't do anything chicken**** and take either Reed or RC out in the future and mess up the title chase. That was definitely an amazing race. I went from "oh crap, it's over" to "hmmm, he might catch him" to "bummer for Chad" all in 20 laps.

Oh yeah, Marcus I think you're mistaken about crashing resulting in not winning as RC just proved that it IS possible to crash and still win. ;)

Funny stuff...I just got home from attending the race! It was a great one. Watching it on TV today gave quite a different impression though. I'll give RC all the credit in the world here. He did an amazing feat on Saturday night. Running the current SX champ down TWICE in the same race was quite a statement. Daytona is going to be ugly this year for the competition.

Sebastian Tortelli deserves some props too. He looked ragged all night on the new Suzuki RMZ 450. Then turned it around in the main event for 4th!

Michael Byrne crashed out on lap 12, but did amazing things (including a quad!) in his Semi while out front. He is improving rapidly. Even innovating.

"it was an aggressive pass that he felt he had to make, I can't wait for an opportunity to return the favor."

I think of "aggressive" and "unnecessarily aggressive" as two different things :ride:

Windham was not going fast enough to be a factor in the race for first or second place, and blocking somebody faster isn't cool. He knew RC was right behind him riding faster, the pass was coming and he tried to block it, so it got a little tight, but it was no "takeout" move. RC is good enough to "stuff" another rider if he wants to and didn't.

It was merely a "got no time for this, now move" type of pass :yeehaw:
