Hey all,

I've got a tank someone spray painted, and am wondering if some of you might know a trick to get it off. I've been able to scrape a lot of it off as it didn't stick well. As far as the remainder, wire brushing or light sanding just grinds the paint into the plastic. I am afraid to try acetone, tolulene, etc as it could dissolve the tank itself. I'm sure there is a solvent that will work, just don't know what it is... :)

Thanks!!

i read on this site that if you pour boiling water on it then cold water it will peel off. i forget who said that about the krylon fusion thread a week or so ago.

^ Great idea! That stuff eats paint off everything. Will try it on an extra fender I've got made out of the same OEM plastic.

It was I who had good luck with boiling water poured over it then doused it in cold water. It did indeed peel right off. Maybe one off those steam dream thingys will work also.
