places to learn

Hi i live in georgetown TX near austin and im new to the sport and im geting ready to go pick up my new to me bike (03 yz 250) tomarow :) and i was wondering if there is any where i should go to get started or if i should get rideing on flat ground down then just go to a track on a day when no ones there

I wouldn't suggest a track with no one else there. That is a really bad idea. Even though you may feel like a dick cause you can't do some of the things others can, get over that.

You will feel much more stupid if you crash hard with no one there the help you.

Plus, you can watch what others do and learn from them.

First though, do use that flat field to learn how to control
that bike.
