my bike runs great its a 94 cr 250.. when i push or pull start it. i dont ride it daily so pullin it to start isnt the worst thing ever but i would like to fix the problem i kick and kick but no bueno.. any help?

Sounds like your pilot jet is too lean. You should be able to start the bike with the throttle closed. Back out your idle screw so that it does not idle at a high rpm. A high idle setting is just raising the slide ( like twisting the throttle open). Once the pilot jet does its job and fires the bike, then blip the throttle to get her going.

Like Indy says, probably needs a rebuild but check the reeds first. They need to seal completly with no gaps or cracks or frayed edges.

check your reeds they can still look fine and still be bad but my kx250 was the same way and rebuilt top end and it fired right up i'm gonna say your compression is to low to kick start
