i hope you dont mind me asking for your help directly but you seem to know your stuff.i read your thread about keeping up with your service intervals and just wanted your views/recommendations about the crf 250 04.i have done 17 hrs on the bike(racing mx) with no valve problems or change in clearance,i am going to put a new piston ,rings ,small end etc at 20 hrs,my question is would it be advisable to change valves and spring at the same time because the honda manual doesnt specify a service interval.also would you stick with the stock piston or could you recommend another

thanks for any help

If the valves and seats are still within spec then the valves can be reused, but I would change the valve springs regardless. Changing the springs every time the top end is changed will go a long way towards making the valves last a bit longer.
