I am thinking about moving up to a bigger bike. I have an 01 125sx, and am a novice mxer. I race a little, but mostly ride on private mx tracks. I have ridden a buddy's 01 yz250 a few times and it was easier to ride and I felt more comfortable on it. I was going to wait and get the 03 250sx or the 200sx, but I've come across a good deal on an 01 400sx. How will the 400 compare to the two stroke yz 250.? I've ridden an 01 yz426 and didn't like it at all, I couldn't start it and it felt heavy and akward. I've never ridden a KTM 4 stroke, can you guys give me a good idea what they are like? Thanks in advance

Just as the power on the 250 was eaiser than your 125 the 400 is eaiser still. If you did not like the YZF, you might have trouble with the KTM 400 because of the weight and slightly slower steering. Furthermore the motor is not quite as snappy (like a two stroke) as the YZF. On the otherhand it is eaiser to start. I am sure others can add to this...

Flea is right on the money...where you will miss the 2/s snap is right out of turn jumps and in the woops. I went back to a 2 stroke (2002 250sx)because of it. There are huge differences in the suspension for the 2002s and even bigger for the 2003s. If it is a killer deal, might want to go for it. Ah, buying a new bike-what FUN
