Just put my rear wheel back on and now when I tighten down the rear axle the wheel gets very hard to spin. I took the chain off and it makes no difference. As I slowly loosen the axle the wheel gets easier and easier to spin.

I put new bearings in a few months ago and they had been working fine, but I've often noticed that my bike drags a bit compared to my wife's bike (when moving them around the garage, etc).

I'm supposed to go riding tomorrow night. Any ideas?

TIA,
J.D.

Have you checked the spacers are correctly placed? Maybe they are causing the caliper to rub on the disc. Try removing the caliper and putting the wheel on and see what happens.

Did you overtighten the wheel?

New bearings may actually drag a bit more than old thrashed ones. Hope this turns out ok.

My biggest regret abotu the internet is not being able to "see" and "feel" this stuff!

I was officially too tired to be working on my bike last night. I had the spacers reversed. The one that is supposed to be on the disk side was on the sprocket side. :(

Thanks for the help.
