i am currently fixing up my '79 pe 175. i got it for $150, with a pile of extra parts included, also found a wiseco piston kit and a set of boyesen power reeds, so right now i've only put about $300 and a fair amount of time into it, and it's going to be like new in a couple weeks.i was wondering if anyone knows any cheap tricks to get a little more kick out of this old 2 stroker? or even any other aftermarket parts available for this bike, so far i haven't been able to find much, i think i lucked out on the piston kit and reeds....

thanks

I owned the same bike. That's what I learned to ride on. Try installing the air vents in the side of the air box to help the motor breath more. I am no sure who makes them but do a search on google and you'll find what I am talking about. motrcycle super store might have them. I have also seen new seat covers for the PE's. I don't think there is much for performance stuff for these bikes.
