You'll notice real fast that I'm a greenhorn when it comes to bike maintenance. I had to replace my clutch after about 6 rides. My guess is that is was do to a couple of things.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I changed it at the track and didn't soak the fibers...I just dipped my finger in the tranny oil and rubbed it on. I also realized that the barnett clutch kit came with two sets of springs, one slightly shorter that the other. I intalled the smaller ones by accident.

Could either of these contributed to me burning out the clutch so quickly??

Oh, And I had one race where I realized there was no clutch play on the cable, so it kept slipping.

Don't laugh!

I just wipe oil on them.

The short springs should have been OK.

How was the pressure plate or the inner surface of the hub? They get worn and dished causing a new clutch do burn up real fast.
