I have a 1986 kdx200 and I am taking off the headlight assembly and putting on a mx style number plate. The kdx light had a vented area at the bottem, and I was wondering what it actually does. Is it ok if i put a solid mx style one on that has no vent?

Thanks for the help

I thought that hole was for a tow rope to pass through to get to the hole in the frame for towing, not that a KDX will ever need to be towed.;) I just made a number plate for my bike too check out this link HERE

i wouldn't worry too much about the holes for venting/towing. I mean they probably help but mine isnt' vented on my 250 and it works fine. Have fun modifiying the plate, although it really isn't that difficult.
