Ugh I have a 94 RM and its been a NIGHTMARE so far ..but down to the current issue the clutch. It DOESN'T disengage! I took all the slack outta the cable (right now the clutch is always pulled a lil) , i took it apart saw that the basket was gauled so I replaced it and it STILL doesnt work. VERY FRUSTRATING! but I have no clue at this point ..except that the hub is sliiiightly worn but not that bad. ANY help would be GREATLY apprciated!! :ugg:

Have you checked the plates to make sure they are in spec? Also if the bike has been sitting for some time the plates can start to stick together. It doesn't take a lot of wear on the hub to keep the plates from sliding freely across the hub.

i had/have theexact same prob on my KDX 175. the place where i bought the bike from was trying to fix this prob on my KDX. well first they thought it was the clutch springs, ordered them but never put them in, then they thought it was the clutch plates, so they ordered some of them too but never put them in. and then they thought it was the special bearing that disengages the clutch, so they ordered one of them and actually put it in this time. and they thot that fixed the prob but it didnt. when you pull in the clutch and you kinda "coast" to a stop and you hit the brakes, but it doesnt want to stop and wants to catch a gear right? thats what is happening on my KDX still. and it doesnt stop till it stalls.or the bike hits something. we have a 16 foot galvanized gate that we cut in half and i went to stop one day coming for ride...... and it didnt stop, it kept going till it hit the gate and pushed it like 2 feet,( i hit the centre of the gate, so it bowed the gate) and the rear tire just spins. if your riding it, be careful of what you stop in front of, because it doesnt stop when your expecting it to. now i try to leave myself a little more room to stop just incase it does happen. oh and try pulling in the clutch and giving it a couple of shots of throttle before you stop. the throttle seems to help it not do it too often. so if you find a fix for this problem then post here (or email me at [email protected]) what you did to fix it. thanx. mine's still doing it and it gets kinda annoying after a while.
