I'm looking to tame the hit of my 03' RM250...
The motor is 100% stock including pipe, save for a set of dual stage reeds and filter..
My time and money is vested in suspension and crash parts,
This motor is great but a little wild...
porting is not an option any time soon, so here are my Q's..
Steahly weight, maybe a 10oz
Pipe spacer
Power-valve spacer..
Anyone have any idea's how these will work on an individual basis or in a combination?

Go with a SFB 12oz or 14oz flywheel weight.
They are made from stainless steel. Cost is the same.
I run a 9oz on my CR250.

Porting is the bottom line solution. Varner Motorsports knows how, did all of Suzuki GNCC's work. Flywheel weight helps some... smaller rear sprocket too (if your trails aren't too tight)... V Force cleans up the roll-on...Yamaha's 5mm reed spacer works well (and cheap) For me a Gnarly didn't work (must run race gas, and I refuse to) The 03's one sweet ride, but quite a handful if not worked with.

I have a have a 03 with a rad valve, sst pipe, yz pistion and it runs on race gas and the bike was a handful for cc but i race it till last spring that way. I added a 14t front sprocket for a desert race and it made the power way more managable and i dont have to shift all the time

what about adjusting the tension on the exhaust valve? It helps the hit of mine pretty decently
