Hi-

I'm a newbie to riding in NC and I'm really close to plopping down some money for a new bike... I thought before I did that I'd get a good idea what kind of riding is available in my area... I don't have a truck and my car (Tercel) cannot (I think) pull a trailer, so I am pretty limited to how far I can go...

Maybe if there is someone who goes riding a lot that needs a buddy (who isn't stingy) we can hook up...

I'd like to get involved in some sort of organized cross country or enduro deal, but honestly, I'm just desperate for a (legal) place to ride and someone to "show me the ropes"... I'd also be interested in outdoor motocross, but I don't like having only one track to go to because that would get a bit boring...

I also need some help finding out who the good dealers are to work with...

Thanks!

Your car can pull a little trailer and there are some guys here (on DRN) in your area that can give you some pointers on places to ride. Hang in there and someone in your area will post.

Mike, Archers Lodge is on the other side of the beltline from you, it is a very tame track, some people ride at Poole Rd, no longer a practice spot for me as it is infested with lawn mowers and 4 wheel drives. Devils ridge is within an hour of you, but practice times are limited. Wish I could offer more help, what do you like to ride...?

Xzzzy, I go to archeers lodge every weekend there is not a race at devils ridge. Its a great track to learn on. There arent many Crazy Fast people out there that will run you over. 1/2 the people there are complete beginners. If you want someone to show you the ropes I would be more than happy too meet you out there someday. If you've never ridden before, I think my uncle would be willing to let me haul his 91' xr200 out there and let you ride it for a day.

You can put a small trailer hitch on that car and haul a one bike trailer, or you can just buy an old pickup.

Thanks for the tips guys...

I found a hitch at JC Whitney so now I am looking for a small trailer...

I'd love to meet you all at that Archer's Lodge track... I'm looking to purchase a bike real soon so it would be good to talk to someone about it first, to get an idea of what the "scene" is like... I got a wad of cashola burning a hole in my pocket, but with my luck I'll get ripped off...

I have an offer to move to SoCal (See other thread) but I'm not sure I'm up to moving... If I can find 2 or 3 good tracks here and some nice people I might just stay... I just want to ride a lot and whatever I have to do to make that happen I will do...

We're looking for a new apartment right now... I think I finally found one with a garage... I'm not used to houses not having garages...

Again thanks! I really appreciate it!

:)

PS - My number is 919-286-4726... I'm going to go visit my Mom in Fayetteville Sunday and Monday but I have the rest of the week free after that... Maybe we can get together, eh?
