Hey all! Noticed on my new to me 2000 KX 250, that the stator cover was loose. I took it off and to my surprise, found some rust on not the stator plate but the thing lol, that turns with the engine. it is just surfice rust and the bike does run good, just wondering if all is good. I put everything back and tightened it down better. Thanx

That thing that turns is called a flywheel. If moisture get in under the cover (and if it was loose it sure did) than things will rust. It's not too much to worry about but you should spray everything under the cover with WD40 to purge any moisture out.
You should remove the cover from time to time (depending how much water you ride in) and dry it out and hit it with WD40.
