What is the best way to repair tears in seat covers? My KX 250 seat cover is splitting along the seam between the black and green and seat covers cost $100 up here in Canada.

Get on ebay and get one for a little less. I got a whole graphics kit and seat cover for $50. Or, I'll buy one for you, meet you at the border and throw it to you!:thumb:

someone posted a while back that you can buy the gripper seat material for dirt cheap :silly: and cut it to match your current seat cover. A new cover for about $10. That's what I'm going to try next time.

I went to our local car upholstery shop and interviewed the guy for some tips on building a higher seat core for a dirtbike. I needed seatcovers fot at least three bikes anyway, so I bought the stuff there. The material is obiously better quality than stock seat covers. OK it is plain black, so there are no cool decals and logos on it, but I got enough for 4 seat covers for 20 Euro. That is something between 15 and 17 US Dollar I think.
Installation is a half hour job maximum, when you have an electric staple gun.
