I own a 2001 cr125. It's been rejeted and has a set of Boyesen pro series reeds in it. I just scored a brand new pro circuit platinum pipe for $55 on **** for it. I now have the oportunity to buy either a fmf shorty silencer or a pro circuit 304 factory sound silencer for it. Any advantages or disadvantages to either silencer. I love the midrange hit that my bike has and don't want to loose it, but a little more bottom end would be nice. I do mostly trail/woods riding.

If you buy the shorty be sure to find some good earplugs. Those things are annoyingly loud... IMO :thumb: I'd buy whatever is the quietest of the two.

In Eric Gorr's book he recommends getting a silencer and pipe from the same manufacturer since the silencer makes a difference and they are designed together. Given that, I'd say PC all the way.

I've got a PC shorty on my CR250 right now and yes, that sucker is loud. Good thing I wear earplugs any time I ride, street, roadracing, or dirt. :)
