Hi Fred;
we just finished riding the Holton loop (near Fremont) a few hours ago - very little snow - great traction - great time! We both were studded but today you could have ridden without them. there is snow on the ground (maybe an inch) but the 1st bike thru exposes the dirt underneath and you can pretty much "book" as fast as you care to go - like I said earlier - fantastic traction!

Hopefully we won't get much more snow and conditions will stay as good for the weekend.

I haven't been there for a couple weeks now, but was told (this week) that there IS a bit more snow at Tin Cup and Lincoln Hills. I'm sure it's still very rideable there but conditions were SO GOOD today at Fremont area, you couldn't ask for better!

Well last weekend I was asked for impartial weather report :) . I screwed that 1 up they all rode in snow when just a few miles away I had none in my yard. Just watched the news tonight, they are calling for good snow fall tonight along the manistee to benzie area, with additional lake effect. no more than 4 to 6 in. so I will think that there is going to be some white stuff on the ground. but shouldn't be to terrible bad. Can't make it need to be in Camp Grayling this weekend, you guys have fun!

FWIW Fred - mucho snow up this way. We got about 17" of fresh snow last weekend... rather deep drifts in spots. Plus got a couple inches today as well.

I'll confirm Mike's report for Atlanta. Was just riding up there today. Easy knee deep stuff off-trail. Good riding, but only had time for about 100 miles..

We just got about 2" of wet snow in Muskegon last night. So Cedar, holton/horseshoe probably got some as well. Should still be ridable though I would imagine.

drag some of that money out of your wallet, and we can drag'em north. Only 4" on the ground. Not enough for sleds here.

2 inches of fresh powder...desert style

Fred,

We just got 2" of fresh powder...dust that is. The weather here in Iraq is actually pretty good...highs in the 60's to low 70's with lows down to about 40. Not too bad except for the dust storms...they suck! I wouldn't recommend riding any of the local trails around here though. Probably best to leave the bike at home and grab your hunting rifle instead. ;)

Enjoy the winter back home and I hope to see you all soon.

Hey Frog,

Wait untill the moon dust is knee deep, no kidding. Where are you located at there? Know all about OPSEC but give me a FOB name.

Keep safe brother, the time flys by pretty quick if you can stay busy.

SGT,
I used to be in Balad where you were. Now I'm down in Baghdad. I'd rather give you that than the FOB name. We'll talk off-line soon...right before the flag drops on the first enduro I'm able to make it back for. :aj:

Jeff,
Good to see you are safe, and as others have said - stay that way and make it back to roost some Michigan sand. Thanks for your service to our Country; you, Brian and everyone else in the service of our Country are heros to me!
